Subtle grey: AP's new Code 11.59 Tourbillon Chrono Grey hues with a two-tone case in white gold and black ceramic
Audemars Piguet introduces a new grey-toned version of its flagship automatic flying tourbillon chronograph.
The watch combines several shades of grey and black, with a two-tone case combining 18k white gold and black ceramic. The 41mm case houses the Calibre 2952 automatic movement.
The flying tourbillon chronograph movement debuted in 2020 and has seen several different iterations on this model.
The movement is clearly visible from both sides. The gears are visible through the transparent 30-minute and 12-hour counters at 9 and 3 o'clock.
The rhodium-plated rose gold winding rotor is visible through the open sapphire crystal caseback.
The hands are made of polished rose gold, while the ultra-thin bezel, lugs and chronograph pushers are made of 18k white gold.
The architectural bridges are rhodium-toned to achieve a silver finish. The hand-finished ceramic is fired at over 1,000 degrees Celsius.
AP says the movement has 111 internal angles on the bridges and decorative elements, which means polishing and satin-brushing is a very time-consuming task.
The Calibre 2952 features a flyback mechanism that instantly restarts the chronograph for continuous measurement.
The movement has a 65-hour power reserve. It comes with a dark grey rubber-coated strap and an 18k white gold folding clasp.
